Professional Reflexologists

Niki's Reflexology BalmNiki’s Original Reflexology Balm has quickly become the choice of professional reflexologists because of its unique combination of slip, grip, aroma and healing properties. It’s extremely concentrated and moisturising, so a little goes a very long way, making it also very economical. The essential oils are safe to use at any age and even in pregnancy and the preservatives we use are natural (Vitamin E and an organic extract of Rosemary – not Rosemary essential oil) which makes it great for people with sensitive skin. Clients love to have it on their feet as much as therapists love to use it so we offer a range of discounts for reflexologists who would like to stock it within their practice.

In addition to Organic Original Balm, we also have Organic Lavender & Chamomile and Organic Warming Balms, also great for reflexology but with some cautions and Organic Rose Balm, too light for foot reflexology but wonderful for hand or face reflexology and massage.

I originally made a reflexology balm because at the time, there was nothing on the market that worked for me as a professional reflexologist. Everything was either petroleum based or peppermint scented so I wanted something natural that I was happy toNiki's Organic Reflexology Balm have both on my clients feet and on my hands, that didn’t smell of peppermint, as I found the smell tiring to use all day.

As I was making something just for my own use, I had the luxury of being able to make small amounts and use it during treatments and then see how it worked. Various oils and butters went in and various oils and butters came out – too slippery! I also had a lot of ladies with cracked heels due to wearing flip flops (another post!) so I was giving them a herbal tincture of hypericum and calendula to mix with olive oil and soak their feet in, part of my homeopathic training. I then discovered that I could buy these wonder herbs as macerated oils, so started to incorporate those. I wanted to use tea tree oil because of it’s antimicrobial properties, but again, didn’t like the smell, so a friend of mine who was an aromatherapist suggested mixing it with lemon tea tree and thus the amazing aroma was born.

So from a professional perspective I now had a medium that gave wonderful slip but enough traction from the beeswax (sorry vegans) to enable me to access the deeper reflexes without sliding off. If clients had undetected verrucae I didn’t worry about picking up the virus and was confident that the essential oils would help. By the end of a treatment the herbal oils had soaked in to the feet and greatly improved cracks, splits and dry patches so that my clients were amazed at the improvement in such a short time and the smell was just incredible. So much so that they wanted some to take home, and that was the start of my little business.

  3. I like the smooth feel of the original balm which I tried on a sore on my hand, it stung for a few seconds & then it stopped hurting. Within 3 days the sore was gone. I only had 1 application as it was a trial ‘dab’ at a show. I want some!
